Welcome to Caritas' digital impact report for 2023!
In the video below, Nora Tödtling-Musenbichler introduces herself as the new Caritas President and gives an insight into the impact of Caritas' work in 2023.
2023 was another challenging year for Caritas. Despite many challenges, we have given a strong voice to those in need.
We can only do this together with donors, volunteers and supporters - thank you very much!
Greetings from Nora Tödtling-Musenbichler
“How can we respond adequately to this situation and bring relief and peace to all these people in the grip of uncertainty and instability?”
Pope Francis posed this question, and it deeply resonates with me. I am Nora Tödtling-Musenbichler, heading Caritas Styria, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new President of Caritas Austria.
Since childhood, I have been passionate about supporting people facing challenges. I learned early on that everyone can make a difference, no matter how little they have. With my schoolmates, I founded the first Lerncafé, and as a young woman, I cared for homeless people struggling with alcoholism. To this day, this person-to-person assistance remains both my work and my calling.
Therefore, as President of Caritas, my focus will be on how we can create a fairer society - one that is fairer for everyone. I envision a society where each person experiences equal opportunities, respect, and dignity.
For this reason, it is crucial to me that, at Caritas, we live and embody solidarity, charity, and cohesion, while ensuring a strong voice for those in need. We watch - and we help.
Our ability to do so stems from our remarkable network of dedicated people: our donors, volunteers, and full-time employees. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of them.
In this digital impact report, we present Caritas' achievements in 2023. We also share our ongoing advocacy efforts to foster a fairer world. I look forward to continuing this journey together with you.
